Engaging in the affairs of international science‑ and‑technology‑related organizations through leading or participating roles constitutes one of the critical avenues for countries to get involved in global science and technology governance and advance multilateral diplomatic and economic cooperation. A comparative study of 95 major global international science‑ and‑technology‑related organizations reveals that certain countries retain strong discursive and operational capacities in agenda‑setting, holding key positions, and attracting institutional headquarters. The overall landscape of international science‑ and‑technology‑related organizations remains centred on Europe and North America.

Relevant countries shall systematically strengthen strategic planning in continuously enhancing original innovation capacity in science and technology, spearheading the establishment of international science‑ and‑technology‑related organizations, actively engaging in international standard‑setting, and fostering talent for international science‑ and‑technology‑related organizations. By doing so, they may participate more deeply and comprehensively in the work of such organizations, expand discursive space and operational capacity in science‑ and‑technology‑driven diplomacy, and furnish necessary platform support and institutional safeguards for relevant states or entities to further engage in and even steer global science‑and‑technology governance.

This directory catalogues 95 internationally influential science‑ and‑technology‑related organizations. For retrieval convenience, United Nations specialized agencies are listed separately.
